Malam Seribu Bulan

The other day as I was browsing through the television, I stumbled across Ustaz Shamsul Debat talking about Lailatulqadar.

He was talking about the benefits and the deeds.

He mentioned something that made me had a "duh" moment.

He said some of the ibadah that women can do is cook and pack nasi goreng and send to  Balai Bomba or Balai Polis or wherever. This is called ibadah too and sedekah somemore.

All this while when people mentioned Lailatul Qadar, it is often associated with pray or read the Quran. Im not saying it is wrong but it totally opens my eyes.

So off I go to tuition with the intention to ibadah. (I used to think that tuition session disrupt my ibadah but none the wiser). I continued baking cookies with the intend to feed people.

Maybe it is not the same but I feel happier though. Who knows.

Who can really say my Terawih prayers are better than teaching ten eager kids?

All is in the intention. I think.

p/s: He is my current favourite Ustaz coz his name got Sham and he is from Nogori like my other half.

Count your blessings.

Recently, in the fasting month while visiting HR's parents in Rembau, we encountered a flat tyre. With the parents in the car, we heard a thud and more thuds as the car continued to move.

We stopped.

HR confirmed it was a flat tyre and we changed course to a nearby tyre shop. It was nearby because we were in the city. On our way to drop HR's dad to the Klinik Kesihatan.

All I could think of was the cost. The money. Cash. Blingbling. Moolah.

Especially with Eid celebration around the corner.

Stress could not best describe me at that time. I was beyond that.

Came an old Chinese uncle. "Banyak untung maa!" He said to me as he looked at the condition of the tyre.

I gave him a tight smile.

And I reflected.

Gosh. I was lucky.

The tyre was bad. Both back tyres were actually. Even the edges and wires came out.

Licin. Botak. Haus.

We were fortunate. We were driving quite peacefully. Slowly. Not on the highway. Near a tyre shop. No accidents. No lives lost.

We were blessed surely.

90s rock glam

I thought to myself I need to change the layout, the font and the picture of myself for this blog. Especially the picture. Too youthful, too 10 years ago.

It need to be more adult looking, more mature and sophisticated. Not that I'm expecting any readers. It is just to match the age now.

Then again, re-reading the previous post, Gilmore Girls. I am so stuck in the 90s.

And I am Okay with that. I like 90s.

Friday, August 12

Well, I am currently re-watching Gilmore Girls.

I wanna say re-watching because it seemed cooler. Way way cooler but honestly it is my first time. It is only only because HR persuaded me (read: forced). He was ballistic when he found out I haven't watch the series yet. His favourite series when he was younger. Not all he talks about is Littlefinger and the Starks.

Anyhow, I'm hooked. But only because of Jess, but he is no longer around after the first few seasons. I'm definitely rooting for him and  waiting for him.

Suicide Squad

Watched it.

Yawn, yawn yawn.

Too predictable. Not much elaboration. Too much deus ex machina. I mean I love the Jocker and Harley Quin but the rest of the gang were so boring and lame.

I didn't sleep or anything but I finished the popcorn in 10 minutes top.

More on advice

I told HR to repair the ShareCentre thingie at the computer. Like most things he repaired, he will look for the information on the net (even how to change a light bulb). As he was reading the manual aloud, he said, "First thing first, you must consult your wife." And I thought, great manual.

More on life

The other day, I heard on the radio that the more comfortable clothes you are wearing, the lazier you will become.

Which is somewhat true. You won't be seeing me vacuuming the house in my kelawar attire.

That dress is designed specifically for sleeping and daydreaming.

p/s: Guess what I'm wearing right now?

Mockingjay Part 2

HR was so disappointed with the movie.

I believe it could be better. I meant, I read the book countless times.I still cried everytime I read it.

I love every word. I like the plot. I like the twist. I love Peeta Mallark. (Chris Hemsworth who?)

I think I'm gonna watch the movie again. Without HR of course.
