Book covers

Just recently, I watched a religious tv show featuring Ustaz Kazim. For a short while only. I have no isssue with him and his style.

I was furious abt what he said. He sort of compared clean people praying and dirty people. When he said dirty he described a guy who did not take shower for weeks (which I took as a homeless), how his ibadah is sorta second class.

Granted, I simply shut down the TV and did not hear the rest of his talk. Maybe he did clarify his statement. However, for me, no one can really say if his ibadah is accepted or not. I am not saying one can or cannot pray while being unshowered or dirty. Najis is najis. More on one should not judge another person.

Like saying a Muslim without hijab does not pray. Or fast. Seriously, do not judge others. Simply based on their appearance.

Once, when I was much younger, my good friend who did not wear hijab was chased away from a masjid when she wanted to pray there. I mean, of course one need a proper attire to enter a masjid but she wanted to pray. What should she do? Should she not pray at all?

This holier than thou attitude must go people.

Bazinga!

I am so into TV Shows. Thats no secret.

Right now, I am on The Big Bang Theory re-run. I know the season is currently 12 but I am still on Season 11 and loving it.

I once asked HR, which couple are we?

Me expecting to be like Leonard-Penny coz she is pretty and I am pretty too.. (Don't judge!)

His answer totally surprise me. According to him, we are Bernadette and Howard. And it is because I am tiny yet loud.

Look at what I found.. Look at the year..

WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR OLD FRIEND TELLING HIM ABOUT YOUR CLASSMATE NAMED MOHD HISYAM

So i did write it and give it to him..
here goes

Nisah’s room
Dear Nana,

I think I already told you bout Hisyam. Remember? Well, here is a narrative about him. Why am I telling you this? I am not quite sure. But what I am certain of, as my bestfriend, I want you to know this guy like I know him.

He used to be my tablemate. You know that right? Basically, you know him from all the stories I have told you before. Anyway, despite his nice and goodie-goodie look, he is quite POYO. I don’t know what word can describe him best. He is one of a kind.

Born in Petaling Jaya and once lived in Setiawangsa, the last time he watched movie in a cinema was so long ago until he watched with me A Shaggy Dog. Yes, no 18sx scene. hahaha. What a relief! I mean can you imagine a city boy who never enjoyed city life? I am a different case since I’m living in boarding school.

Well, you might say he got pure heart and yada yada. This guy enjoys punk, ska and I don’t know what kind of music. Surely not my type of music la since you know how I am crazy about Alanis n pink n Ashanti.

What you should know bout dis male creature is, everyone thinks he is a nice, polite and innocent. All my classmates and my lecturers think so. Not that I’m saying I know him better than anyone else. It just that sitting beside him, make him open up his true colours which is full with kePOYOan. Hahaha. This guy is never mad at anything. So when he is not in the mood, I can easily sense it.

Have I mention that he is the last from his siblings. And he is a lot lot lot lot younger than any of them. Making him very very very close with his parents especially his mother. Yeah, I know what you gonna say, “a mommy’s boys is a tough case”. But he didn’t show his mommy’s boy attitude much. For all I care!

One thing I like about him is his brain. Man, that brain is created for grammar. If he ever read this letter and checking my grammar I know I’m gonna get lots of red pens. I am never good at grammar. Especially with tenses. For all I know, he might even laugh knowing I wrote bout him to you, my best friend. and he is always prepared for impromptu speaking and he is good at giving presentation.

Owh, I must tell you about his long tummy. Gosh, how I envy that tummy. He can eat what he likes as much as he likes and sleep all day and still be hungry without getting BUNCIT. I mean, he sleeps and he eats n he is not buncit and he got great brain. This is a remarkable discovery!

Once, I asked him, “are you a pre-mature baby?” he said no. he mentioned his best friend Dyau is one. And he asked why. And I told him. Remember kak Aizan or not? Yeah!

What I like best is he writes songs. Even though I didn’t really understand the theme of the song, he wrote them. Nice enough. Score one! And he plays guitar. You know how I like boys with instrument. Score two!

He is sorta a surau guy. What do I mean by sorta.. he goes to the surau, not frequent but a lot lot lot better than me. Well, the fact that both his roommates are very alim, has connection on this matter. And yes, he stopped wearing shorts and he wears kain pelikat instead. He is a ketua usrah n dakwah for the surau. I know you would go, “Dzeti, what had got into you? Usrah n dakwah is not in your dictionary!” Exactly! People say different attract. OPPPSSS!! What do I mean by different attract? Well, you know me better to judge me.

Neway, do write back! Reply is a must! Love you lots.

Lots of love,
(dzeti alfina)

I love waffle

Lately I have been travelling more and more. By bus.

To and fro KL.

I wish it is overseas. Blergh.

I noticed that the buses I rode rarely stopped at the designated RnR stop. Which is weird for me.

I am used to the RnR facilities.

These other stops are not bad. They are just different.

In a good way - it is less crowded than those in Machap and Pagoh RnR. Especially during the long holiday. It is quite clean. It has nice view. Spacious. Variety of food. (Why am I complaining again?)

Oh yes. It is so expensive. So so so blood thirsty expensive. A cup of hot coffee from the machine is RM6 ++. My favourite waffle? RM4.50.

And being superstitious that I am. All the signanges are in Chinese. So I don't buy much food there. Then again, if Burger Ramly is like RM7, how much do you think is the Nasi Goreng?

Do the math.

  • Riverdale - Team Jughead. Enuf said. 4.5/5 stars.
  • Narcos - I just started watching it. 4  episodes so far. For me, it is just series I watched to kill time. I'm not into stories with subtitles. Or drugs. Unrelatable to me. Like Breaking Bad (HR is gonna kill me if I admit that story sucks!)
  • OITNB - Too many women. Too much drama. Not my thing. I did watch the whole first season. 2/5 stars.
  • Suits - Haven't start this season yet.

Apple Cinnamon

I was always fortunate enough to have foreigners as my next door neighbour. No, that the blue eyes kinds. I wish~ *roll eyes*

It's the people you usually see building your houses, making your teas and guarding your malls. Yup, the immigrant workers.

I ain't complaining. I am the type of neighbour who mind my own business.

Image result for why do people mind your own business because no business no mind

However, my neighbours are also my students. And their family of course. I have no problem with that too.

Though, they are some (read: A LOT) of these students look down upon them. Saying negative things about them. Some petty things.
"Diorang tu busuk, teacher."
"Teacher tak dengar ke diorang menumbuk sambal?"
" Diorang tu banyak bulu..."

Honestly, I don't make up their comments. They do say stuff like that.

I'm not saying that is not true. But look at the bigger pictures, kids!

These neighbours of mine, always, always go to the mosque for prayers. With their favourite white clothing that looks like ladies clothing (It looks so comfy that I wanna buy one or three for HR). They would always contact their family or loved ones (When is the last time you call your parents?).  They work damn hard to support their family faraway (What did you spent your money on?).

They are maybe some bad batch of these workers. But don't let one bad apple rot the rest.

Just like we don't like ISIS judge the whole Muslim community.

p/s: This advice apply to me too.
