Look at what I found.. Look at the year..

WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR OLD FRIEND TELLING HIM ABOUT YOUR CLASSMATE NAMED MOHD HISYAM

So i did write it and give it to him..
here goes

26 March 2006
1330
Nisah’s room
Dear Nana,

I think I already told you bout Hisyam. Remember? Well, here is a narrative about him. Why am I telling you this? I am not quite sure. But what I am certain of, as my bestfriend, I want you to know this guy like I know him.

He used to be my tablemate. You know that right? Basically, you know him from all the stories I have told you before. Anyway, despite his nice and goodie-goodie look, he is quite POYO. I don’t know what word can describe him best. He is one of a kind.

Born in Petaling Jaya and once lived in Setiawangsa, the last time he watched movie in a cinema was so long ago until he watched with me A Shaggy Dog. Yes, no 18sx scene. hahaha. What a relief! I mean can you imagine a city boy who never enjoyed city life? I am a different case since I’m living in boarding school.

Well, you might say he got pure heart and yada yada. This guy enjoys punk, ska and I don’t know what kind of music. Surely not my type of music la since you know how I am crazy about Alanis n pink n Ashanti.

What you should know bout dis male creature is, everyone thinks he is a nice, polite and innocent. All my classmates and my lecturers think so. Not that I’m saying I know him better than anyone else. It just that sitting beside him, make him open up his true colours which is full with kePOYOan. Hahaha. This guy is never mad at anything. So when he is not in the mood, I can easily sense it.

Have I mention that he is the last from his siblings. And he is a lot lot lot lot younger than any of them. Making him very very very close with his parents especially his mother. Yeah, I know what you gonna say, “a mommy’s boys is a tough case”. But he didn’t show his mommy’s boy attitude much. For all I care!

One thing I like about him is his brain. Man, that brain is created for grammar. If he ever read this letter and checking my grammar I know I’m gonna get lots of red pens. I am never good at grammar. Especially with tenses. For all I know, he might even laugh knowing I wrote bout him to you, my best friend. and he is always prepared for impromptu speaking and he is good at giving presentation.

Owh, I must tell you about his long tummy. Gosh, how I envy that tummy. He can eat what he likes as much as he likes and sleep all day and still be hungry without getting BUNCIT. I mean, he sleeps and he eats n he is not buncit and he got great brain. This is a remarkable discovery!

Once, I asked him, “are you a pre-mature baby?” he said no. he mentioned his best friend Dyau is one. And he asked why. And I told him. Remember kak Aizan or not? Yeah!

What I like best is he writes songs. Even though I didn’t really understand the theme of the song, he wrote them. Nice enough. Score one! And he plays guitar. You know how I like boys with instrument. Score two!

He is sorta a surau guy. What do I mean by sorta.. he goes to the surau, not frequent but a lot lot lot better than me. Well, the fact that both his roommates are very alim, has connection on this matter. And yes, he stopped wearing shorts and he wears kain pelikat instead. He is a ketua usrah n dakwah for the surau. I know you would go, “Dzeti, what had got into you? Usrah n dakwah is not in your dictionary!” Exactly! People say different attract. OPPPSSS!! What do I mean by different attract? Well, you know me better to judge me.

Neway, do write back! Reply is a must! Love you lots.

Lots of love,
(dzeti alfina)

Chocolate-y

The other day when I mentioned HR went away on our anniversary day, I would never had guessed the teachers from his trip would actually bought us (read:me) a gift.

It was so thoughtful.

It was so shocking.

I felt shy shy cat.

So sweet. Their gift was so yummeyh!

Thanks a lot!!

The long awaited holiday

During this school holiday, I think I have manage to meet all the important people in my life. Except a few. Just wait because you are all in the list. It just that I have to be in lots of places. So, your time will come.

I had finally catch up with Nana and Roja. It was due. So, what we did was find a place to munch and talk. Like really talk. We didn't even finish the yummy cheesy pizza. Just  talk. I miss so much news about them that it hurts.  You get the idea.

I went to Baah's big night and day. She looked gorgeous in white and pink dress. I got to catch up with Izzah, but not too long. I didn't really got a chance to have heart to heart. Or share stories. Lols.

Of course, I met Mard and K.A and Bayah. It was nice reminiscing about the younger time. Then again, I met Bayah too often already.

I also spent quality time with my mama. In faraway land. Shopping. Awesome, I tell you~

Now, there are a few more on my list~

HR just gotta keep up with me.

How does it feels?

Moving to a new school?

It sucks.

I have to start all over again. To be the new kid again. To be the goodie-goodie teacher who accepts, never complains, always follows and never rebels.

To start a new routine with new kids.

To make new friends, to establish positive rapport, to adapt to new environment.

I miss my kids, my collegues, my friends, my-cool-never -bothered admin, my 1.20pm punch out time.

But I have the chance to start over. Fresh. Meet new faces. Enlighten new youngsters. Challenge new tasks. Accept possibilities. Learn more knowledge. Gain new experience along the way.

Be with my other half, HR..

Of Female and Cleo

I bought a magazine yesterday. It had been awhile since I buy one. I haven't finish flicking through the magazine yet when this sudden feeling hit me.

I miss browsing magazines with my friends.

Flicking through the pages together. Exchanging the magazines from room to room. Comparing what accessories we like and laugh together at the silliness of the models. Then, we will mark pages that we like, go to suggested hangout places, answer the quizzes and also examine the articles so very closely and relate them to our life.

It was the best time.

Now, even if I wanted to buy stuff in the magazine, it has to wait. Wait till I'm back in KL.

It is too depressing to read the magazine. Dang!

On the plus side, I am saving money. (NotthatIreceivedmypayyet.)

p/s: I just find out that Blake Lively is the model for Chanel. Am I that outdated?

Caramel

The other while talking on the phone with HR, we talked about our childhood memories. We talked and rambled on.

We ended up talking about songs that I sang whenever I played 'getah' with my girls.

Rumah terbakar panggil bomba,
Bomba datang berlumba-lumba,
Anak kambing patah kaki,
Anak kambing menari-nari,
Anak kambing makan rumput,
Anak kambing masuk kandang.

I just realized this song is kinda silly and does not make sense. At all. Not even the rhyming pattern. Oh silly childhood song~

p/s: gotta love HR for singing Don't Call Me Baby by Madison Avenue for lullaby

Chocolate chips

I didn't particularly like to share stories about my practicum. Not that it was bad, it was awesome with too many classroom management but I just don't like to bore you with the stories.

I was reading Ain's blog the other day when I felt like sharing my own story on the same matter.

The gossip started when the students always saw me and HR riding the same car together to and from school. Sometimes, me and HR did paired teaching or sometimes he entered my class to supervised the technical stuff (LCD, Laptop etc). For them, we were close.

Not that me and HR didn't try to not to be together, we did. But I do prefer to eat together. So we went to canteen on our separate ways. We sat as far as possible during assemblies and other public events.

Some thought we are married since we 'live' together (because of the car sharing). Some thought we are brothers and sisters (because apparently, for them, we look alike). Some just thought we are lovers.

So I fed their curiosity.

To some, I admit we are brothers and sisters. Another lot, I said, we are match made in heaven.

Usually, I told them a sad love story. How I really love HR and did everything I can to be with him, but he did not like me. He rejected me and he fell for my best friend. Sometimes I even add in the tears. I am dramatic like that.

They all mostly were sad for me. And never bugged me again.

And not once they questioned me.

To the teachers, I said we are just friends.

And you think only students like to gossip...

Im all that and more

Miss Dzeti nak balik awal pun susah. Dok risaukan budak-budak yang beli aiskrim tepi jalan. Kalau masa bulan puasa dulu lagi la baran je. Sedap je yang non-muslim dok menjilat aiskrim di tengah jalan. Sedangkan aku dok sibuk pusing strereng cuba mengelakkan diorang.

Tapi aku pun pernah menjadi murid. Aku pun pernah menjadi budak-budak yang beli kat tepi jalan. Aku pun selalu tak pedulikan nyawa demi ngejar aiskrim dalam roti.

Aku ada beberapa makanan kegemaran pada zaman persekolahan.Salah satunya satay ikan.

Satay ikan yang selalu jual kat sekolah tu? Yang di atas moto? Yang ada sos manis dan sos pedas?

Masa kanak-kanak riang, itulah makanan kegemaran. Sanggup tanak belanja waktu rehat sebab nak makan satay ikan tersebut.

Hari tu nampak jual kat pagar sekolah. Suruh HR pergi belikan.

RM3.

Puas aku makan.

Inilah nikmatnya menjadi seorang cikgu. Dapat re-live zaman kanak-kanak. Menikmati satay ikan setelah penat bersekolah. Oh yeah~

Princess Wishes

A girl deserves to dream, don't they? Some of my personal dreams were accomplished this year. Which keeps me awake at night reminiscing them. Some remain a wishful thinking. I am happy with that. I have something to look foward to.

I went to see a circus last March. In Takapuna, place of beautiful beaches. It was absolute fun, doing it with an absolute fun guy. The show was fantastic. Leaving me in AWWWW jaw for a long long time. Their stunts were endearing and some even made my heart stop beating. I always dream of going to circus, ever since I was little girl. I even put it in my new year resolution, read here .

In that resolution, I also wanted to go to a fun fair where a guy could win me teddy. HR did, not a huge one, a small tiny puppy. That was enough. We also took a ride in Ferris Wheel, Bumper Car and some other dizzying ride. I can cross that wish now.

Another little girl's dream that I been wanting to see is Disney on Ice. Which I did. Last Thursday. It was what a girl could dream of. Life of fairy tales. Where's there is evil queen, hot prince and fierce dragon spitting fire. The place was full with kids in princess outfit. The women sitting beside us even jokes and ask, "Where's the kid?". It was two bird in one stone since the Disney on Ice was staged at Vector Arena . That place is one of the places to cross over 'been there'.

I may never bought Nintendo Wii anytime soon (from the list). But I am going to Aussie this winter. YaY!! Oh, I am leaving HR behind. Double YaY!! For being single. I hope I can go on rides in Brisbane and do some serious gossiping in Sydney.

Chuck & Blair

I have not narrate my last Easter Break holiday yet. I have been wanting too. But I always been able to deflect myself. I am now able to take deeper breath since most of the tv series has ended. All with good ending except for one, House. Deym u Gregory House, always keeping it suspense. I am trying to keep myself from hooking to other tv series vortex.

Oh, Hisyam has been suck to Facebook vortex. At times, when glance at his laptop screen, is Facebook site.

So, last Easter, me, HR, Farah & Aliff went up north to Cape Reinga and surrounding. We actually made lotsa stop, which I am so lazy to recall. I'll just paste some photos then.

Sapa sangka ada terowong di NZ?

menawan bukit sambil main golf

Crocodile Hunter Lady

Bird Hunter Lady
memang serba boleh lah

Small Delicious Picnic

Sandboarding

Serba boleh tak?

At this point, my camera was out of battery.
HR's full with sand.
Other photos from Farah's camera is with HR.

Back in Auckland.
Sejuk. Gembira.

Makan. Bergambar.

Overall, the trip was fun. It was rather cheap and short. I wanted to go somewhere despite my economical state at hazardous level.

muvee time

I am a sucker for Gambit. Always had been. My toon time when I was a little girl was spent adoring him and his skills. Oh, Gambit! How sexxay.

my hero

My frustration of X-Men Movies without Gambit comes to an end with the X-Men Origins: Wolverine. In that movie, Gambit will be there with his cards. Unfortunately, he only appears 10% of the whole movie time. Sucker~

Oh, that movie so lame. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone to watch. It is full with all the cliches that you can think of in any superhero movie. Moreover, my Gambit doesn't one bit look like the Gambit that I've been drooling for. Demmit.

One movie that I would recommend to everyone to watch is Star Trek. I never watch or known any of the plot or characters. I never even like that kinda movie (read: I hate movie that involves things that are hideous). But I love it. Everything about it.

Oh that movie is so good that I cried like hell for the first scene. HR said, "La, tajuk movie tak kuar lagi dah nanges. Dahsyat." Deym, so touching.

The graphic or whatever is superb. The actors and actress are fantastic. Plot of the story is understandable for person like me. What else you need?? The battleships are sexxay also.

p/s: HR is still laughing at my inability to do the ever famous Spock hand sign.

Anak Mama yang Gagah

Got the L word from Yati last week. Went to her place at night for the sole purpose of that tv series. Oh yeah, I also want to check out her crib. Which is nicely decorated.

As I reached her place, she was kinda shocked seeing me alone. She kept repeating, "Gagah la Dzeti. Datang sorang je malam2". It's kinda funny that she used the word 'gagah'.

I kept saying, it's not a big deal. Our house is like a five minute journey. Volt - Princeton is not that far stretch. She was really amazed by my courage. Walking at night alone. Biking around Auckland to get to work. And some other stuff that I did alone.

Her remarks made me think.

Oh, I am a gagah woman. I do can live outrageously as I pleased. I am able to get around the city on my own term. Good for me.

One of my mother advices comes to mind. I think, she said it when one of my brothers was terribly ill and my father was still at work (note: this happened in the middle of the night). She droves us to a 24 hour clinic. (I am my mother's sidekick. I will always follow her). She keep saying, learn how to drive. So that if I ever face an emergency and no one's around (referring to my workaholic future husband), I can attend to the matter myself. Just like this one, your son need medical help and your husband is at work.

I can say, I am proud of who I have become with my mother's blessings. I am a good driver who sometime has misfortunes like side parking, small space to park or red light at the edge of a high cliff.

Oh, Mother's Day will come soon. What surprise shall I do this time?

to my mama with love

There are some stories of my life that I don't share with my mom.

Did I lie? Nope. I did not.

I just secure some part of the stories so she would not be worried. So she dont have to live her life with worries over her daughter. I know a mom never stop worrying but I never wish for her to be worried about me.

The only two things I want her to feel is proud and love.

Proud of me. Of my achievements. Of my niceness. Of my nonsense. That's all. I just want her to be proud. For her to be able to brag about me to her friends. Proud, that is how I want her to feel.

Love. Unconditional mother daughter love. Always and forever.

So, mom, next time I don't share stuff with you, know this. I love you always and I want you to always be proud of me. Of whoever I become.

Walking down memory lane

"Happy Birthday Dzul Majdi"

oh, jangan tanya aku apa maksud nama dia. aku tak tahu. aku rasa mungkin dia pun tak tahu apa maksud disebalik namanya. dia abang aku. aku tak pernah cakap aku sayang dia. tapi aku tahu dia tahu sebab aku tahu dia pun sayang kat aku. walaupun masa kanak2 aku benci kat dia . aku ingat satu insiden mama tanya aku masa aku kanak2 riang,

"sapa yang paling nina jahat sekali?"
"Abang!" aku laju je jawab.

Aku benci dia lebih dari Mummra, (Villain si Thunder Cats - aku suka kartun ini). Sebab masa tu, akula mangsa tembakan jet2 pejuang ciptaannya. Aku selalu aja ditembak2 kasar. Aku juga mangsa buli dia. Cis!

Tapi bila dia dah masuk asrama, dia jadi baik sikit. Sikit je. Mungkin sebab dia rindu aku.

  2. Dia sentiasa membangga diri dengan keputusan peperiksaannya. Dia perli2. Sindir2. Oh, dia memang berjaya membakar semangat aku dan adik2 yg lain.
  3. Dia tak pernak amik duit kalo tok bagi. Dia kata tok tua dan tak kaya. Mama abah ada. Kaya lagi. Kenapa nak ambil duit tok. Eh, kalo aku, orang bagi duit, rembat aje!
Lain, tak ingat. Lagipun kalo dia baca post ni, nanti dia riak plak.

Oh, masa mama kat NZ, abang eksiden. Kitorang lambat tahu. Abang tak sedar beberapa hari. Mereka bagitahu hanya lepas abang sedar. Sebab tanak mama risau. Mama risau lagi parah.
Kata mereka, abang cedera dalaman je. Muka dia herot. Dia bercakap jadi pelik. Mama kata sampai sekarang muka dia herot. Mama kata kalo dia gelak, huduh sangat. Doktor kata keherotan tu hanya elok dalam 4-5 bulan. Dia kena pegi fisio lagi. Lain2 dah ok.

Masa aku tahu, aku sedih sangat. Takut dan berdebar. Aku doa banyak. Takpela muka herot, asalkan baik hati.

Oh, abang aku single lagi, aku rasa. Hari ni hari lahir dia yang ke-26. Dia juga kaya raya.

p/s: post ni agak panjang dan extra honest.

Syawal in Auckland

First Syawal of this year has passed by. It was great and fabulous. Lotsa smiles and happiness. Tiring but worth every second. Colourful and full with delicious food. Nope, I didn't bake any cakes or cookies. I just helped out. Including providing the materials. I can't precisely point at any cookies on the table and said, "That's mine. I made it!" Still, I slept late helping others.

AidilFitri in Auckland is almost the same in Malaysia that I usually have except of the lack of 'duit raya'. Oh yes, no visiting cemetery. I did suggest to my housemates to go visit cemetery since there are many cemeteries around Auckland CBD itself, but they refused. They said those arent Muslim's. It will be too weird if people caught you reciting Yassin there.

Oh, mama sent two baju raya for yours truly. One is orange and the other purple. With the tudung as well. Look gorgeous like always.

ten lines experience

just now went to SLC with Penny teaching about proofreading. in the beginning of the class, she asked us to write ten lines about our experience that day. since it is just 10am. not so much experience that I had since i woke up at 9.10 a.m with no sahur whatsoever.

this is my ten lines expereince of the day.

"I started my day with glancing at my clock beside my bed. It was still early. I dozed off back just because I could. The sun was shining brightly outside. it was going to be a good day. I woke up and had my shower with lots of bubbles from my shower cream. i always like my shower time. I sang and I danced in the shower. it was time to choose my wardrobe. Think! Think! sunshine outside, so no sweater for me."

I know it does not seem like not ten lines. But it is when I wrote it with my pencil. Seriously~
