One in 2013

I know it is very late to wish Happy New Year. Like almost three months too late.

I'm good at pretending to be busy. Making me feel worthwhile.

Anyway, my resolutions are mostly recycled. From yesteryears.

Something new this year is I want to have enough money to be a house. I want my own house. I don't want to be paying any more rent. It's so useless!

Of course houses are effing shit expensive these days. Especially if I want to settle down in KL area.

I was thinking, to myself mostly, about buying somewhere near to KL like Seremban, Senawang or Nilai. I can't live too far from civilization. Just ain't me.

Now, if anyone can help me tell my mom about that, thanks.

Me vs Samsung Galaxy W

HR came into the room as I was reading on the bed. Nothing major. Just lazy weekend. He smiled.

Which I thougt was meant for me.

I smiled back. He, then mumbled, "Hi, baby. Have you finished charging?"

"Huh?" I put my book aside. I continued my puzzled look, "Char- what?"

"Oh. I was talking to my phone." He pointed at the phone charging on the bed next to me.

Ouch!

Yahoo!

One of my proudest achievement in this year school holiday, no, in my life is buying the toilet seat for my bathroom toliet bowl.

For those who are famliliar with my bathroom, now my toilet bowl is complete. Hahaha.

You all should be proud of me. One of my achievement! It has been years since it is without toilet seat.

Anyway, I just bought it, I forced Mard to pasang it for me.

p/s: Now, now, about the door..

Excuses, I know

Ok, I rarely wash my car when I'm in GM. That is no news.

Apart from being kedekut, there are not many options of car wash here. There are some, but most of them look too dodgy.

My excuse of not washing the car at home? My next-door-neighbour are mostly single males. On both side. They like to do what males like to do. So, we usually stay inside. As much as possible. If we really need to go out, we quickly do it. Yeah, they also like to bersidai outside their house.

When I arrived from GM last Thursday, my car, which is not so clean, became so dirty. With mud and rain and dirt and red soil.

It felt like I just arrive from some pretty ulu place. Which is quite true.

Urgh, wash car quickly to enter civilization. Anyway,

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha!!

p/s: I cuti sampai hari Selasa. Yay!

Splurge Like a Girl

Before I got my first paycheck (which I only received after 5 months of working), I have been saying to myself, I want to buy something (A THING) that signifies my very own first pay check. Something major.

So, I said to myself, get jewellery. Gold is always good. A simple ring or a cute bracelet.

In the end, I ended up with a Blackberry. Instead of peer pressure, it's family pressure. But I love my purchase.

But, I still linger on the jewellery.

And I bought it. Self-satisfaction.

udunneedamantobuyunicebling

Yes, I know you cant really see it. It is meant to be that way. Self-satisfaction, remember. Just know, that it truly bling.

Tadaaaa.. Dengan Ini Aku Merasmikan Kerusi dan Meja Baru.

Thanks to those who commented on my previous post. Some through blog itself, some FB, some just through words of mouth.

Yes, I bought a table, a shelf and a chair for myself for my birthday. This is what my current room looks like. My room smells 'shop-like' with all the new things. Hehehe

Mind the tangled wyres. They are there for a reason.

Most of the stuff that you can see on my table/shelf/wall are gifts from students. Like the frame, the flowers, the pop-up cards (i dun think you can see them), the teddy and etc.

That's my i-Pod dock. A gift from HR. For our fifth year anniversary last March. Later, I'll try and post some of the pictures of the pop-up cards, no? When I feel like it that's it.

What did HR give to me on my birthday?
Love. Lotsa love. And more love.

I am stuck. Here.

I am torn.

Between buying nice (probably expensive) furniture or not.

The dilemma is I don't want to be staying here. For long. So, I dont think a nice furniture is neccessariy. But I do need it to make life easier. But, buying one highly likely suggesting that I will be staying here long. It's like proving that I will be staying long. Blergh, I am not making any sense.

All my current furnitures are simple and cheap. And if I have to move like rightaway, I can just move with my MyVi. No need to bring the cheap bed that makes noises everytime I move, the RM30 wardrobe closet that always terbalik due to being too heavy, the boxes that been keeping my extra stuff. Those stuff are just enough for me who wants to stay for a short period of time. Meaning I can just either dump the stuff or leave it behind.

BTW, spesifcally now I need a table and a chair. I need them to do my work. To do my notes. To mark the books and papers. To put my laptop. To put stationary. To be more comfortable.

So, how about it?

the view from here

*
There was one incident where one guy honked his huge expensive car when I was nearby. I thought I was blocking his way or something so I peeped at his extravagant tinted window, (preparing to jeling if he wanna show me fingers).

Nope, he was happily waving at someone far from me or the car. Excitedly.

Oh how I wished I could let him know how ridiculous he looked waving through a tinted window. Obviously his friend couldn't see him. Even I merely catched his shadow.

Nak sgt tingkap tinted kan~

Now you get to watch her leave
Out the window
Guess that's why they call it window pane
-Love the way you lie -

Well, I just think that Eminem's trying to teach us homophones. Same sound different meaning. Different spelling. Pane & Pain.

*

The other day the window of the car that I drove to work daily (Myvi) was broken into. They stole the Smart Tag. Yup, I kept it in the dashboard but it's no help. Glasses were everywhere. I was so panicked that I had to call someone.

I'm perfectly clueless and scared.

I mean I parked at a safe area. Busy area where people lalu-lalang. In front of market. In a parking box. Paid and show the parking tag with coins and all.

Thank goodness for a decent elder brother and his colleagues.

*
I'm pretty scared to open my windows nowadays to ventilate my own room. With my preferences to put my gadgets everywhere in my room (near my bedside, on my bed - both places that are near to the window), I could not risk it.

Learned my lesson, robber!

Puffy room is better than being poorer than I am now.

the ice cream girls

I think Ain once asked me about my preference towards chick-lit genre for reading. She herself does not really favour that genre. I can't really recall what my response towards her question was but I bet I said something lame like I just like what I like. I remembered she sorta tried to persuade me to try reading other genre by buying me a book by one of her favourite author for my birthday.

I kept on reflecting on her question because I do want to know the reason as well (which I don't have at that time). It's not that I don't read other genre because I do read Gaiman's, Koontz's and King's writing and I particularly like Sheldon's writing. But chick-lit has always been what I favour the most.

After some soul searching, I guess this preference got to do with me being such a realist. I think I can relate better with these stories and through them I extract the moral values and try to relate them back to my life. I like to use these books fantasies (which is more real than any ghost story, in term of reality and fantasy) to imagine my own. Plus, I am a sucker for stories with colourful rainbows and happy endings.

I got to admit though, I do like stories about girl loves boy, boy chases girl, girl got insecurities issues, boy like bad girl, boy has good girl best friend or stuff like that. It is simple. It is usual. It is real. It always happens. Just with different twist here and there.

When I choose a book I like to read a few pages first. If I feel that I can't put the book down, I sure am hook up by the book already. It also got to do with I like books with nice colourful happy covers and mysterious and superb tagline. They compel me to read them.

Current obsession is Dorothy Koomson. She is absolute great read. I have read almost all of her book. Almost because she just got a new one out. I owned all of her writing except for her first and latest book.

Malam ni HR akan jadi Mr Hyde lagi.

Aku rasa tahap kerabunan aku makin parah.

Haish, dah la aku tak berapa kenal orang.

Mahu alat bantuan baru. Yang lebih glamour. Yang mana aku takkan tinggalkan dan sentiasa pakai.

He does not know it but he is my hero.

I meant to write about this earlier. But somehow deep down, I know that if I post this earlier I might make my mom worriedsick (well, she reads my blog). So, I decided to wait after raya. Just to ensure that she wont freak out to soon and is able to enjoy her raya.

The story is that my mom told me earlier that she already posted my baju raya and she said something about it might take more than two weeks to arrive. So, I marked my calendar, to be ready in case the postman buzz me to pick up parcel. And just around what time shall I expect the parcel.

So, one morning, as I was leisurely waiting at my office before the clock strike 10 am and I officially need to start work, my phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number. I was a bit shocked but remained professional nonetheless.

It was my apartment building manager. He sorta started asking if I am Dzeti Alfina (cant really remember how he pronounce my name or my Malaysian home's address. But if it was not for the serious matter, I might just laugh because it was hilarious).

Asking me this weird questions like if I am staying in my current address and other weird stuff (at this point not knowing who he was and why he is calling). Being a professional phone interviewer, I was a bit reluctant to share the details. I asked him first the reason of his call. After listening to him, my heart skip a bit. Deym you post people!

He said that he found a parcel addressed to me in a garbage bin.

He sorta thought the postman left the parcel outside my post box (because parcel too big compared to post box). Maybe some inconsiderate stupid people throw the parcel out. Because it was left there for days. I rarely checked my post box. But he was just assuming that.

The parcel arrived after 6 days instead of more than two weeks. I was not prepared to check my mailbox daily to anticipate for my pretty baju raya yet (I was supposed to do that the next week). Bravo for the speed. Not so much for the delivery.

When I saw him to pick up the parcel, I asked him why don't the postman buzz me or left a call card like usual. He said, maybe because this :

See there. No signature required.
So he can just not send the parcel.
Or leave it anywhere he wanted.

It was a blessing that I did got the parcel after all. And my building manager becomes my hero. I used to be skeptical towards him. For no reason. Stop judging people, dzeti. He just looked weird for a building manager.

Here are the parcel's pictures before being torn open by me and me screaming happily to see my pretty baju raya. You've seen my baju raya. No need for me to show pictures here.

Thank you mama.

Despite that, I was happy. I straight away tried it on and snapped a few pictures and YM it to my mom. At that point, I havent told her any of this. Just told her the happy part that it fits and I looked so deym glamorous. This post is just sorta reminder to others if you wanna send parcel and such. Oh, and bragging about my pretty baju raya, mind you.

Moral of the story : For future reference, please ensure that your parcel needs to be signed upon receiving.

p/s: If I can, I will try not to make my mom worried much. Especially with her being faraway. I understand that being a faraway mom is hard on her as she is unable to care and love enough for her children. I want her to always know that I am a happy and well. Always. Thus, worrying is not a feeling I wish for her to have.

gone baby gone

Yesterday, I officially sold my bike. I feel kinda sad. I'm not that attached to it but that bike signals the independent day of my life. Ahh, rapik je.

I've been neglecting the bike since I moved from WSA to Hobson St to Queen St. But now that the bike is officially out of my sight, I feel rather melancholic. Only the day before yesterday, me and HR washed the bike. Dried it. Put some WD40 on the rusty chain. Spray some paint to make the bike look great. Which make the bike look almost brand new. Then went for a few circles with the bike. Oh, macam taknak jual pun ada.

HR pointed out that I never actually took picture with the bike. Which was kinda true. Because when I browse my pictures folder, I truly had no memories of the bike. Feeling sentimental.

Hopefully the bike will be more care after. Maybe the new owner will ride it more than me.

Ah, sedih~

si comel

As some people know, I bought new laptop last few weeks replacing my old one. I mean, its broken. There's nothing else I could do other than abandon the old one for a new one. I got the laptop of my dream. Small cute laptop. I do not need any futuristic and canggih features. Or any big spaces. I just need something that I can carry around in my handbag.

And I also promised Ten to post my new laptop pictures. Oh, the laptop name is hp mini. And I don't anything else about it except I can do my assignment, play my movies and also enjoy my solitaire once in a while.
