Look at what I found.. Look at the year..

WRITE A LETTER TO YOUR OLD FRIEND TELLING HIM ABOUT YOUR CLASSMATE NAMED MOHD HISYAM

So i did write it and give it to him..
here goes

26 March 2006
1330
Nisah’s room
Dear Nana,

I think I already told you bout Hisyam. Remember? Well, here is a narrative about him. Why am I telling you this? I am not quite sure. But what I am certain of, as my bestfriend, I want you to know this guy like I know him.

He used to be my tablemate. You know that right? Basically, you know him from all the stories I have told you before. Anyway, despite his nice and goodie-goodie look, he is quite POYO. I don’t know what word can describe him best. He is one of a kind.

Born in Petaling Jaya and once lived in Setiawangsa, the last time he watched movie in a cinema was so long ago until he watched with me A Shaggy Dog. Yes, no 18sx scene. hahaha. What a relief! I mean can you imagine a city boy who never enjoyed city life? I am a different case since I’m living in boarding school.

Well, you might say he got pure heart and yada yada. This guy enjoys punk, ska and I don’t know what kind of music. Surely not my type of music la since you know how I am crazy about Alanis n pink n Ashanti.

What you should know bout dis male creature is, everyone thinks he is a nice, polite and innocent. All my classmates and my lecturers think so. Not that I’m saying I know him better than anyone else. It just that sitting beside him, make him open up his true colours which is full with kePOYOan. Hahaha. This guy is never mad at anything. So when he is not in the mood, I can easily sense it.

Have I mention that he is the last from his siblings. And he is a lot lot lot lot younger than any of them. Making him very very very close with his parents especially his mother. Yeah, I know what you gonna say, “a mommy’s boys is a tough case”. But he didn’t show his mommy’s boy attitude much. For all I care!

One thing I like about him is his brain. Man, that brain is created for grammar. If he ever read this letter and checking my grammar I know I’m gonna get lots of red pens. I am never good at grammar. Especially with tenses. For all I know, he might even laugh knowing I wrote bout him to you, my best friend. and he is always prepared for impromptu speaking and he is good at giving presentation.

Owh, I must tell you about his long tummy. Gosh, how I envy that tummy. He can eat what he likes as much as he likes and sleep all day and still be hungry without getting BUNCIT. I mean, he sleeps and he eats n he is not buncit and he got great brain. This is a remarkable discovery!

Once, I asked him, “are you a pre-mature baby?” he said no. he mentioned his best friend Dyau is one. And he asked why. And I told him. Remember kak Aizan or not? Yeah!

What I like best is he writes songs. Even though I didn’t really understand the theme of the song, he wrote them. Nice enough. Score one! And he plays guitar. You know how I like boys with instrument. Score two!

He is sorta a surau guy. What do I mean by sorta.. he goes to the surau, not frequent but a lot lot lot better than me. Well, the fact that both his roommates are very alim, has connection on this matter. And yes, he stopped wearing shorts and he wears kain pelikat instead. He is a ketua usrah n dakwah for the surau. I know you would go, “Dzeti, what had got into you? Usrah n dakwah is not in your dictionary!” Exactly! People say different attract. OPPPSSS!! What do I mean by different attract? Well, you know me better to judge me.

Neway, do write back! Reply is a must! Love you lots.

Lots of love,
(dzeti alfina)

Count your blessings.

Recently, in the fasting month while visiting HR's parents in Rembau, we encountered a flat tyre. With the parents in the car, we heard a thud and more thuds as the car continued to move.

We stopped.

HR confirmed it was a flat tyre and we changed course to a nearby tyre shop. It was nearby because we were in the city. On our way to drop HR's dad to the Klinik Kesihatan.

All I could think of was the cost. The money. Cash. Blingbling. Moolah.

Especially with Eid celebration around the corner.

Stress could not best describe me at that time. I was beyond that.

Came an old Chinese uncle. "Banyak untung maa!" He said to me as he looked at the condition of the tyre.

I gave him a tight smile.

And I reflected.

Gosh. I was lucky.

The tyre was bad. Both back tyres were actually. Even the edges and wires came out.

Licin. Botak. Haus.

We were fortunate. We were driving quite peacefully. Slowly. Not on the highway. Near a tyre shop. No accidents. No lives lost.

We were blessed surely.

90s rock glam

I thought to myself I need to change the layout, the font and the picture of myself for this blog. Especially the picture. Too youthful, too 10 years ago.

It need to be more adult looking, more mature and sophisticated. Not that I'm expecting any readers. It is just to match the age now.

Then again, re-reading the previous post, Gilmore Girls. I am so stuck in the 90s.

And I am Okay with that. I like 90s.

More on life

The other day, I heard on the radio that the more comfortable clothes you are wearing, the lazier you will become.

Which is somewhat true. You won't be seeing me vacuuming the house in my kelawar attire.

That dress is designed specifically for sleeping and daydreaming.

p/s: Guess what I'm wearing right now?

great friend

Me. Being lazy. At home. Like the usual.

Texted Bayah.

Admitted to her of being super lazy. Guilty. Still on the bed.

HR. At school. Changing the world. One student at a time.

Bayah said. Do the chores if HR is at home. Only then.

LovetillJannah

You know how HR always gotta be HR.

He loved his gadgets, like literally glued his face and squinty eyes on them. To the point that I felt jealous and I gave him ultimatum,

"No gadgets whatsoever on the bed."

He slept on the carpet in the room!

Talk about priorities, people!

And to think that all of  you think I'm too clingy and jealous? Right?

3rd Syawal

Yesterday, I stopped by Aeon Seremban 2 for prayers. All the way from Rembau to KL. Scratch that. I actually wanted to watch Ant-Man. Bahahaha.

Anyway, the telekungs there were super nice, comfy and colourful. I wanted to take a selfie as a proof but there were other people and I thought I would looked extra vain. But I did search high and low for the brand of the telekung in case I could find it.

I did not found any. I looked around Aeon too just to be sure if the telekungs were sold there, Nonhado. Because of the search (window-shopping, mind you) I was too tired and I thought I still had a long journey ahead, so I didn't watch Ant-man yet.

Maybe tomorrow, if Arif agreed to treat me.

TGV Aeon AU2 is now operating. Yayyers!!

p/s: My life revolves a lot around Aeon.

Chocolate-y

The other day when I mentioned HR went away on our anniversary day, I would never had guessed the teachers from his trip would actually bought us (read:me) a gift.

It was so thoughtful.

It was so shocking.

I felt shy shy cat.

So sweet. Their gift was so yummeyh!

Thanks a lot!!

Being human part 2

Christina Perri also sings something about being human.

The first few verse of her song, she sings about how she is being forced to do anything but still being vulnerable.

After a few chorus, she changed the word 'but' into 'because'. Which makes the song even more meaningful.

So, people!
Let's be human and be strong.

I can fake a smile
I can force a laugh
I can dance and play the part
If that's what you ask
Give you all I am

Suits

To balance my fondness of Malay Dramas, I, too watch English Series.

Currently, HIMYM has ended. I hate the ending. I hate.. I despise.. I feel enraged..
I am team Robin and Barney. Always and Forever.

Moving on.

Now, I am watching Suits. I absolutely love the intense drama and smart awesome counter moves by each party. It somehow makes me feel smarter. Lol.

HR however always needs extra time to digest stuff especially with whatever the female is doing especially Rachel because he hates Rachel with guts. Whenever Rachel does something he will always ask me the logic, the reasoning behind how women's brain works.

Totally, Men From Mars and Women From Venus situation.

At the end of the day, he will oooh.. and aaah.. But somehow he still hate Rachel.

One simple example is when Rachel said something like, "I will support whatever decision you make but I will not give anything concerning my opinion," upon Mike Ross, the boyfriend making decision on a job offer.
Hisyam does not understand why can’t she just say her opinion. He was just asking for her opinion and he might not use the said opinion.

This is because, once you asked, and once you answered, it will become real. What she wants.

Mike Ross knows what she wants. She knows what she wants. But saying it will make it real. And if happens that he does not do what she wants, hearts will be broken.

I don't know how to explain better, I think it is true men and women think differently. With different logic.

Both are smart in their own way.

As Scottie said to Harvey, "Have Donna explain your feelings for you?" when Harvey came to apologise. Harvey needs someone like Donna to peel each layer of his feelings (ego, huh!)

p/s: Hisyam always said, "There's the right way and there's Hisyam's way!" whenever I tried to tell him to do stuff.

Being human

The other day I watched Green Lantern (the one with Ryan Reynolds (but I still root for Ryan Gosling, in any movie)), I like one quote by him,

"I'm only human. But It does not mean I am weak. It means I am vulnerable."

It means, we can be wounded or get hurt. We are open for assault or criticism. But, we are human. We forget things easily as well. We recover.

So, hold on to that thought.

We are not weak!

Too Long Too Loud

I went to a wedding the other day. At a hotel. Not a bragging post, I assure you.

After so much talking, gossiping and drinking the free-flow juice that kept on coming, I went to the loo.

There's only one cubicle and apparently it was kinda hard to lock. After inspecting the mechanism for a while, I decided to just go with it. I was on the very peak, if you know what I mean. As I was going in the cubicle, another guest walked in the toilet. I smiled at her and I continued with my business.

It was very quiet in the toilet. And I drank a lot of juice. It was very quiet in the toilet. And I drank a lot of juice. It was very quiet in the toilet. And I drank a lot of juice. It was very quiet in the toilet. And I drank a lot of juice. It was very quiet in the toilet. And I drank a lot of juice.

And unlucky for me, the toilet is the no bidet kind.

I went on with my very long loud business.

Embarrassing, I tell you. Very embarrassing. In my mind at that time, I don't know the other guest. We will never meet again. I had to do what I had to do.

I went out from the cubicle after being so loud, I saw another guest. She immediately knew me! And she started talking to me.

Dang!

Pilihan Alfina tetap HR

The other day, I was watching a drama. Malay drama. A cerekarama; Pilihan Rozana.

I was watching alone as HR was in the other room doing his music thingie.

Guitar,
Keyboard
Microkey
Amplifier
Tuneport
Microphone included.

I prefer to watch alone anyway because HR loves to complain about everything in a Malay drama.

The storyline
The actors
The dialogue
The make up
The props
The location
The food
The wardrobe
The music

Basically, everything.

After a while, he came and seek for me in the living room. And he did what he did best. I had to finally stop him from disturbing me.

"Abang, ini pilhan Rozana ok! Rozana! Bukan pilhan Hisyam!" I didn't use the exclamation mark of course. However, HR didn't budge. Finally, I switched off the television and said we should sleep.

After all, it was Saturday night and Sunday is a school day for us in Johore.

JohorLeads!

Grease-y Love

HR was out and about the other day. He asked me if we need anything in the kitchen.

Honestly, a lot.

But because HR is HR, I told him to buy us cooking oil. Just the 1 litre kind.

Which he bought, the expensive one! Aha! Amateur!

But it's okay.

To make mistake is to learn.

On the other hand,

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!

HR found this cool colouring app thingie that can be made 3D. Awesome!!

Penang Escapade

As one of my closest friends was getting hitched, me and HR drove all the way to Penang. It was one of our short getaway as a couple as well.

As we drove by the Penang town, we saw a herd of huge cows hanging by road. Totally chilling nearby a small field and an automatic car wash shop.

I said to HR, maybe they were waiting for their turn to wash themselves at the shop. Which we laughed it off.

On serious note, I asked HR where's the owner? Aren't they a bit curious or worried? Like totally town area.

HR joked, the owner was living in one of the condos nearby. Watching from windows afar. Come sunset he will ring the bell and the herd of cows will return to the condos.

Life.

Just chilling by the road, bro!

Before and After

I'm keeping you round to keep you around.

All smiles and sunshines

I don't like meeting smart people who are driven with dreams and ambitions.

They made me feel like all my problems, challenges and issues in life seem petty. They, of course, did not mean too, but I felt it somehow.

It is silly.

p/s: We didn't get the transfer to KL. Silly me for hoping.
